Hi there,

Can you be a bit more specific in how the error is being generated? Help us help you, so they say… (and so I've once been told).

Hi there,

I've got the same kind of problem. I use Alfresco Share with MySQL and every time I try to upload any file in "Document Library", I get an "Upload Failure" error. I'm a total newbie with Share and am trying to figure out how it works.
Is this a well-known problem? I looked around for some answers into french and english forums but no one seems to have similar troubles…
I use Ubuntu 8.10 and Opera… I think everything's been okay with the Share's installation…(just followed this tuto: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Installing_Alfresco_Lab_3_Stable_on_Ubuntu_8.10)
If you need more details just ask, I just dont see right now what else to say.

EDIT: I checked the log files in directories alfresco and alfresco/tomcat/logs but they don't contain anything relating to the problem.

Thanks for any clue you could provide.

Clem

Yep,

Using Labs 3 Final. I'm having the same problem. I can't upload files through Share in the Document Library. I can create folders, however.

I click on upload and I select the files and I click on the upload button and I see the progress bar in green until it reaches 100% and then it turns orange and it says "Failure".

Nothing in the logs either.

That's it.
Uploading files with Alfresco works fine by the way. You can see your files into the Share's Document Library, you can copy or delete them but you just can't upload directly from Share.

I'm also having a very difficult time. I'm using Alfresco 3.1 installed on RHEL 5 Linux on an x86_64 system. It appears that the Document Library page does not get fully rendered. Sometimes the upload button is completely disabled and sometimes it's enabled but doesn't allow the user to browse and select any files. I've tried this with Firefox 3 on both Linux and Mac. I'm going to try with another browser and see if it's any better…

So I wrote the instructions for 3Stable for Ubuntu and my uploads work.
There were some issues with the version of Flash being used in the browsers, unfortunately that is way over my head.
If "Uploads" is greyed out on the "Share" page then its likely a Flash problem.

But I just tested this again and it works:
Flash 10.0 r22
Firefox 3.0.8

Something else that did not look clear, "Click" on the icon at the top when the "Upload File(s)" window opens and then you will be given the opportunity to select files.

It would be cool the drag and drop files, maybe in another version.

Cheers

Hi,
Do you succeed to upload a file?
In order to get the "Browse" button in the "Upload File" window using Firefox, you just have to resize your browser's window. Weird but it works…
Anyway, each time I select and try to upload a file, it returns me an orange "Upload Failure" error, have you solved this one too?

Thank you.

I am having similar problems as well.  Started with a clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 and Alfresco 3.0stable.

I'm getting the orange bar, 0%, and failure when I attempt to upload through the Share flash uploader.  Anyone find a fix?

Do I need to set some kind of permissions?

Just to clarify.  I did a server migration from another computer.  It seems like everything went without a hitch except for a few configs I had to change like disabling guest access and other settings that have to be changed after the war file is expanded.

The old computer still can do file uploads through share's web interface, which is weird.

Are there any log files that I could edit that might give a clue as to what is going on?  My memory is very hazy with regards to the Alfresco installation on the old computer.  I made numerous changes so I can't even recall if I had this problem before and I figured out how to fix it.
