File system/ Repository

Hello all of you!

I would like to know if it is possible to use Alfresco without it´s repository. Can it use a normal file system in a folder as a repository? We have had a bad experience with DMS before, where the system stopped working and 40 workers were unable to access the files. I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but i really couldn't find it.

Furthermore, is it possible without programming? Just with the config files?

Thank you very much,
Roberto Nicolas

No Alfresco does not work like that. The good news is that the file content for resources is stored on the filesystem - and you can take a backup of that plus a backup of the Database and you will be able to restore a broken system.

Thanks,

Kevin
