I have log files for Jnauary where the file names suggest they relate to the 3rd, 8th, 22nd, 24th and 30th of the month. I probably didn't access Alfresco on some of the missing days but am pretty sure I did on others. Furthermore the Tomcat window on my Win XP server generates messages like log4j: Failed to rename alfresco.log to alfresco.log.2010.mm.dd.
It's not obvious to me what's stopping creation of the dated log files so does anyone know of standard causes and fixes that I should explore please?
