Hello,

Being completely new to Alfersco's world, eventhough I tried to find my way in the wiki and documentation, I still did not find clearly the difference between the Enterprise and the Community versions : except a commercial model, what are the functionality differences between the Enterprise and Community versions , if any ?

Thx for help and sorry to ask a question that might appear stupid for most in this forum,

Check out this.

In short when you want to use alfresco for evaluation or development on your local machine you can use community version but when you want to use it at enterprise level you need to purchase the subscription and support. You will be getting support from the alfresco and enterprise license to use enterprise version.

The most important features you won't get in the Community Edition:

- Clustering
- Certified stack
- JMX support (change settings on the fly without a reboot)
- Support, Stability, Patches
- XAM Support
- Other Addons (e.g. the Transformation Server) are only available for the Enterprise version

Cheers,
Michael

And probably the most important one - integration to commercial application servers and database systems.
