Email new content to Alfresco

Hello all,

I am trying to make the integration of Alfresco at my company as painless as possible. One thing that would help is if people could simply email their new content to something like [email protected].

The only reason I ask if this is possible is because under the "Add aspect to item" content rule, there is an option for "Emailed."

Unfortunately I can't find a single mention of this aspect anywhere (Wiki, Forums, Documentation). Can anyone explain what this is, and if it can be used to accomplish what I am trying to do? Thank you.

Any luck getting this to work on Alfresco2.0 Community?

I quickly downloaded the .zip file and located the files in the 3 directories into the tomcat directory as instructed in the readme file.

I had the aspect link, but the icon was not working and when I clicked on the Aspect button under the actions it just gave the heading for email… but nothing else to make your selections as indicated in the readme file.  I think this would be a fantastic extension… only if I can get it working.

Regards,
Bradley

Fixed sort of.

I only copied the files into the 'closest' location.  Deleted the files and put the directories into the requested location and all appeared to work fine, except I am not getting any mail to download, and it is a bit tricky to troubleshoot that one. But hopefully should be able to sort out.

I am getting an ERROR "Connection timed out" and I think it is on the space that I applied the aspect to yesterday which was not properly setup.  Cause I noticed in the log that I was getting the ERROR before I setup correctly but when I go to the file, the aspect is not applied therefore I cannot delete it.  So I have some digging around to do, to get that 1st email into Alfresco.

Regards,
Bradley
