Edit online in Windows 7, will this be fixed in 3.3?

Edit online doesn't work as intended with Windows 7, as the documents open as read-only. This has been confirmed both in the forum and in the JIRA. Is this planned to be fixed for 3.3, either the EE or CE (or does it already work with EE)?

I'm not familiar with the issue, but is it related to this Microsoft KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870853/en-us ?

Thanks,
Mike

Unfortunately the registry fix mentioned in the KB article doesn't fix the problem.

Here's the JIRA entry I was referring too:

http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-1893

It actually seems to be somewhat intermittent, as I've been able to open some documents for editing once, but not after the first time. Also, those documents are not versioned up when theyr're saved.

Workaround is to disable Web Client service. I have no idea if this breakes something but edit online opens read write and saves document normally.

Hello,

Ok, i disabled the WebClient Service - in Windows, to no avail…

Changed different registry Keys
BasicAuthLevel = 2 and EditDocumentsOnline = 1

This is strange, as the mentioned security constraints for WebDav in Win 7 which i read about (ssl-encryption etc.) are meat by our configuration….

Any ideas?

greetings
Chris
