Hi,
Look like the atctiviti bpm designer has an "old" dep on org.eclipse.wst.sse.ui [1.2.0.v201006030742] which conflict with last version available (1.2.2 …).
Is there a fix planned, a workaround ?

Hi Olivier,

Can you explain which Eclipse version and distribution you are using?
We tested the Designer on the latest Eclipse Helios release, the classic distribution.

Hi,
It's an helios modelling with last update.
Plus many cool Smiley Sad|) features:
    - GEP (gwt integration)
    - AspectJ
    - ADT (android)
    - STS  (Spring tool Suite).
   - m2eclipse (Maven) + WTP integration.
   ….

Hi,

Okay, now I understand why there could be a conflict.
For now I would advice to use the Eclipse classic distribution to run the Activiti Designer plugin.
I'll have to see what the possible problems would be to loosen the version dependencies for next releases.
I'll certainly look into this.

Because I see things like "Software currently installed: Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers" in your error message.

Are there plans to update the dependencies for the Eclispe plugin? It would be nice to install the plugin along within my regular IDE. The issue seem to be a dependency on older version of some components, such as eclipse modeling framework.

Please install the Activiti Designer on a Eclipse Helios Java or Classic distribution. Not the JEE one.

Hello,
I am currently deciding the implementation of a BPM engine in a project.
We have decided to use Activiti BPM (against JBPM or Intalio for example) for their skills (customization, integration with Spring,…) but this issue is blocking, since the IDE used is the Spring Tool Suite (based on Eclipse JEE).
I have seen this issue quite some time, there is a plan to fix this issue in the coming months?
Without this assurance I will feel having to go to JBPM Smiley Sad
