Dynamic properties

Is there any plans to allow administrators to use the UI to create apects and types (to alter the model via the UI?) Aspects that affect behaviour would be possible once scripting is a reality.

Allowing this would have pros and cons.  It would certainly lower the barrier to entry for some of our admins and developers in the community.

Let me know if this is something that is already under development.  If its not maybe some of us can start working on it.

What I am talking about may be a little above the norm which is dynamic properties that can be added to a type by an admin via the browser.  At the very least we should support that.

It's not something that's under development. Its certainly been discussed - but so far it's been a lot priority task. I definitely think it's a module that the community could contribute.

Thanks,

Kevin

I sounds like something you would want to co-design with the community.

I am looking at it right now in my free time.  Ill post some suggestions but its not something I want to just do.  Its repository infrastructure and alfresco are the experts on that the majority of us are hackers when it comes to the models.

I think its something we should do.   I think it is part of the system which enables business users and removes programmers from the equation.

I spent the weekend at NEXPO – a newspaper and publishing conference.  At some point I wouldnt mind debriefing with some alfresco folks.  Most of the systems I looked at have the basic library services covered via proprietary means.  No one really seems to be following AIIM or any other standards groups.
