In Alfresco do we have to enable Versioniong feature at individual document level?
Is there anyways to define that at Global (Server or Space or Folder) level, such that users dont have to enable this feature @ individual file level

Versioning is controlled via the Versionable aspect, which can be automatically applied for multiple documents and/or spaces via one or more rules.  It's also possible to define a custom content type and configure the Versionable aspect to be mandatory for that type.

Peter

Any pointers on step-by-step for this process?

Instead of defining this using RULES, can this be confiured using some settings (at SPace / Server Level)?

Rules are configured at a space level and can apply recursively, so by configuring a recursive rule against the Company Home space that applies the Versionable aspect you'll achieve what you're after.

Also as I mentioned you can make Versionable a mandatory aspect for any custom content types you define.  This is described in the "custom content model" pages on the wiki.

Peter

Can you please point me to some documentation on "How-to do this"?

Conceptually I understand what you said; Alfresco documentaiton is extremely poor & take a tons of time implementing the basic things…

Add automatic versioning in Alfresco
1. Log in as Admin and go to Company Home.
2. Click on “More Actions” and Select “Manage Content Rules”
3. Create a rule with Wizard Add "Aspect to item"
4. and Select action value as "Versionable" from the drop down box
     Click Next
5. Run this rule in "InBound" and apply this rule sub spaces and run in background.
6. Follow the rest of screens to finish the process

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how to label multiple alfresco documents or all documents within a space can be labeled?
I have seen that notes can be added when we try to checkin a individual document but can the same process be done for multiple files?

And one more thing can we checkin all documents in  space or multiple documents simultaneously,if yes then how?

Please reply ASAP.
Thanks in advance.
