hi, very new to alfresco, sorry maybe stupid question.  Trying to test workflow with alfresco SDK and was following the document seems share rely on repo (at least i build the integration-test of share SDK, i cannot login successfully).  However, seems the alfresco wiki mentioned deploying share to individual tomcat, although the doc did not mention no need repo exist.

quick question:  does share must reply on repo?

thankyou.

Hi Mythox, If I understand your question correctly you want to confirm that, To run Share web app, do you need Alfresco Explorer/Alfresco repository ?

Then Yes, You need to have Alfresco repository. Share provides rich web- based UI and which leverages the Alfresco repository.
All your data, read write operation gets executed in back-end in Repository tier mostly using repo data webscript.

You can deploy Share on individual tomcat instance and Repository on other instance and you can point your share web app to repository.

For detail please check this architecture - http://docs.alfresco.com/4.1/topic/com.alfresco.enterprise.doc/concepts/alfresco-arch-about.html
