Custom view and custom content

Hello Guys!

I am new to alfresco.. Just doing first steps.. looking around… I was wandering is it possible to create custom view in alfresco? By custom view i mean that i want something like tree view where you click on tree node and see custom content. Your tree view is always visible, you do navigation by clicking on nodes. Content which is indicated by tree node can be document chapter or different document.

Is it possible to do? if it is so where should i start?

Do you mean something different than what is available in the tree view in Alfresco Share?

You mention document chapter. Alfresco doesn't know what the structure of your documents is. If you are storing document chapters as individual documents in a folder, then the tree view works for that. Otherwise, it won't work.

So each leaf node should be a document?

If yes, how much documents alfresco supports? Can i have for example about 500,000 small documents?

There is no theoretical limit on the number of documents the repository supports. You should be able to store 500,000 small documents without a problem.
