Comparing cm:content during versioning

Hi all,

I need to determine if the content(cm:content) of node being versioned is the same(equal) as the content of the new current version of the node.
In my scenario if the content has changed some of the node properties need to be removed.
Does Alfresco provide out of the box methods to compare cm:content?

It depends from the file format of the content, if it is a Word file, so this means that you have to use a comparator based on reading Word files.
