CIFS and MS Office Freeze

Hi there,

i have installed Alfresco Community 3.3 on an ubuntu machine.
Then I've created a new network drive for alfresco via cifs.

Works fine. I can copy files with the windows explorer without any problems. But when creating a new word document, and save the file on the new network drive via "Save as", MS Office freezes, and nothing happens.

Can anybody help?

Check whether sharepoint protocol is installed for saving documents from Microsoft Office to directly into Alfresco repository.
alfresco-installation/amps folder will show whether the alfresco-community-spp or vti-module.amp
is installed. You can usually see it in the startup logs whether vti module is installed and it listens on port 7070

I have the file vti-module.amp in the amps folder.

Download the vti-module.amp for 3.3g and drop it into the
alfresco-installation/amps folder and restart alfresco,
http://process.alfresco.com/ccdl/?file=release/community/build-2860/vti-module.amp
that will install the module to enable sharepoint support.
