Help about Assigning roles to groups

Hello everyone!
I'm italian and i'm studying Alfresco for at least a month. My problem is as follows.
I created (logger as admin) in "company home" the structure of my repository, eg:
-COMPANY
  –Folder1
  –Folder2
  –Folder3
  –Folder4
  –Folder5
Now I should create such a group "visitor" which can access to the spaces "folder1" and "folder2" with read-only access and cannot see the other spaces.
Because I saw that the role of consumer has only read access (group Read) I tried to invite the "visitor group" as a consumer to "folder1" and "folder2"  but when i log in as a user of the "visitor group" I see the whole repository "company home"! Why? Should I create a new role by adding other appropriate permits? or have I done something wrong in the procedure?

If I understand you right It might be because you're creating the space and not unchecking 'Inherit space permissions' in the space users dialog.

Thanks for the advice!
By various tests I've solved in this way:
I had already unchecked 'Inherit space permissions' when i've invited the visitor group to the folder1 and folder2, but then I realized that I had to do it also for the remaining spaces.
Morevore, I had eliminated the access to "company home" at the group EVERYONE, I noticed that alfresci had set it by default alfresco. As soon as I removed Everyone, I got the configuration I wanted!
