Changing user passwords

I'm using Alfresco Share 3.4 as a standalone install, and one of my users has forgotten his password.

What do I do? I can't see a way to reset it, and looking through the forums I can see that this might be a problem. I've seen threads about adding a lost password link (which would be ideal, but overkill for now). I just need to reset an existing user's password. (Alternatively, I could probably delete the user and re-invite him, as he's not used the system yet, but if he had I assume this would cause different problems?)

The "old password" field is ignored if the person setting the new password is an administrator.

Thanks,
Mike

How do I get to the dialogue to change it? (I'm sure I'm being silly here….)

If I look at the user admin I see no options to change passwords. I can see the option for myself, but that obviously doesn't help much!

Whoops - that's a bit of a failure in that component, isn't it? Even if you managed to get the dialog up it would change the current user's password (i.e. yours!).

The easiest way would be to use the Explorer client (/alfresco) instead. Could you also please raise the Share issue in JIRA?

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, I didn't even know that was there! (It took me a while to find it so in case anyone finds this on a Google search, I needed the "Administration Console" icon near the logout link and it was obvious from there.)

I've not looked at JIRA yet but provided it's easy to use I'll do that next.

Thanks for your help.
