Hi All,

We are using alfresco 3.4 enterprise edition . Currently we are accessing alfresco through my-site.com:8080/alfresco .I would like to change it to default web port 80 and remove alfresco from url . ie access it as my-site.com . Is that possible ? If so what are the files needs to be changed . We are planning to use alfresco in multi-tenant mode with moodle sites. Please give me some inputs .

Thanks in advance.

you can certainly do that
this will help you
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Changing_Default_Port_Configuration
and also based on whatever OS you are using there might be mapping required on hostfile.

Hi Guys

There must be a way to change the annoying /share url in alfresco. Users here are struggling to remember the url. Why does it have to have /share at the end. Why cant one simply link this to your IP (no /folder) and call the default landing page from there. What is the point if everything works through /share to have /share at the end of the IP. It would be so much easier to simply type: alfresco.mydomain.com and then everything work. We have to remember that the people using our DMS is generally less educated with IT than us and simplifying things in this regard goes a long way. To us remembering /share is nothing, to them it is cumbersome. I have now read all a thread on this topic and cannot find the answer. I really don't think spending more than 2 hours on this is worth while. there should be a simple way to change this. after all, if we were to type: http://website.com/x/y/z/a/b/c/123/456 every time trying to access a simple site, we also would move on to something more simplistic and welcoming.

If any of you have some advise, please assist.

Thanks.
