I was following the instructions to hide the Create Site link, but after backing up and modifying the /alfresco-4.2d/tomcat/classes/alfresco/web-extension/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/dashlets/my-sites.get.js and my-sites.get.html.ftl and /alfresco-4.2d/tomcat/classes/alfresco/web-extension/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/modules/header/sites.get.js and sites.get.html.ftl files, the link to Create site was still visible. I restored the previous versions of the files above but now cannot log into :8080/share/page/type/login or :8080/alfresco/faces/jsp/browse/browse.jsp. Whe I try to log into share i get a message saying alfresco is not available or my credentials are wrong. When I try to log into alfresco explorer i get a 404 Apache Tomcat 7.0.42 error. I did not touch alfresco-global.properties and run service alfresco restart as well as rebooting the server.
any other errors in the log file? you are trying with admin credentials only right? In alfresco explorer you are getting login page but after filling username password when you hit login you are getting 404 is it?
I am trying to log in with admin credentials on the share page. On the explorer page I only get the 404 error no option to log in. I also had changed the share log-in site to use our company logo, but it is back to displaying the Alfresco Community Logo.
Which folder should I find the log file in? I am new to Alfresco, and kind of inherited it as I have previous web development experience.
u can find it under <ALF_HOME>\tomcat\logs. If you revert back your changes you should be able to login. Also can delete explored share folder under webapp in case you are not able to figure out the files you have changed.
