Can alfresco search inside ODF files (odt, odp, ...)?

Hi,

I have some ODF files in a repository but searches in Alfresco don't seem to include them at all. Searches do work for other types of files (.html, .xml). Any idea?

Thanks!

Have you got open office running and is the connection between alfresco and open office working?

Yes, it's running:

tomcat55 27455  0.0  0.3 404664 30620 ?        Sl   Jan08   0:00 /usr/lib/openof
fice/program/soffice.bin -accept=socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager -env:UserInstallation=file:///var/lib/alfresco/alf_data/oouser -nologo -headless -nofirststartwizard -nocrashrep -norestore -splash-pipe=5

There is also no error in the alfresco.log file regarding openoffice:

17:05:00,566 INFO  [org.alfresco.util.OpenOfficeConnectionTester] The OpenOffice
connection was re-established.

However, this is the last message about openoffice in the log. Even if I restarted Tomcat a few times today, there has been no such message anymore.

Any pointers on troubleshooting? I am prepared to check out the database, file system or configure log4j. Who is responsible for extracting keywords from ODF files (Alfresco or Lucene)? If it's the former, please let me know which Java classes to look into.

Thanks!
