Backing up MySQL db from Alfresco Community

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knows how to backup the MySQL db from the Alfresco Community version 1.2.1. I cannot do mysqldump when Alfresco is running, but if I turn of alfresco than I can't do the dump either. So I am not sure exactly how to proceed in performing the backup. Any help would be appreciated.

I stopped alfesco for a bit and now when I am trying to starting it again I am getting the following error message.

/usr/local/alfresco-1.2.1/bin/alfrescoctl.sh : mysql  started
chown: `mysql': invalid user
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/alfresco-1.2.1/mysql/data
STOPPING server from pid file /usr/local/alfresco-1.2.1/mysql/data/static-host.pid
060720 12:48:08  mysqld ended
Any idea why?

static-host.err contains the following error message. So it looks like the mysql user is missing, I don't know how to ad this user to any help would be appreciated.
