We're looking to auto generate PDF documents populated from Activiti forms via a PDF template.

Are there any tools available to assist with this task?

I hope you are not serious and only kidding with me… You post a question in a forum that has nothing to do with difficult issues in activiti, since reading processvariables is obviously a no brainer for you (you do not ask about that). Then I gave you a term and you have no clue how to use that?

Hi Ronald,

Let me explain - I am not a software developer - so if my question is too simple, stupid or in the wrong forum then I apologise.

I have absolutely no idea what you mean by "Itext" - so while your response may have been well intentioned it means nothing to me - sorry.

However I have a business requirement to generate PDF documents based on user input - for example autogeneration of employee contracts from a PDF template.

As an Alfresco user we thought it would be neat to automate the process using the Activiti engine.

I've scoured the web for ideas to simplify the process and perhaps integrate third party tools but thought the brains trust here might have some ideas to give us a quick start.

Once again - apologies if this is not the right forum.

Regards

Karl

Karl,

I do not mind that you are not a developer, but I do mind that it seems that you do not know the existence of Yahoo, Google, Altavista or even Bing. Even your initial question without activiti in it, but including e.g. java would have resulted inn lots of info on the topic.

And if you get a response by someone, containing one thing it is fairly easy to post that in one of the searchengines and get splendid results.

We have a reference to 'how to ask smart questions' in the community page that describes all kinds of things to take into account. E.g. http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#before
