Not only does helping out in the forums raise the tide that raises all boats, it is a great way to add technical credibility to your service offering in return for a little bit of time spent in the forums each week.
I am going to start publishing a leaderboard of partner forum activity so that the most active partners get more visibility to the rest of the community. In order for your activity in the forums to be counted, your "rank" on your forum profile needs to be set to "Alfresco Partner". If yours is not set, please let me know via forum PM or email so I can set it for you.
The web site on your profile also needs to be set to your company web site so that all employees of a given partner will be aggregated appropriately.
Hi Jeff Good initiative. What happens if it is an individual who is contributing in the forum. He may be active in the forum for his personal interest.Any plans for rating and ranking volunteers who do not belong to any company. Thanks
Yes, of course, we do that already. If you go to the member list, you can sort members by number of posts and by number of points.
I also do monthly internal reports on various aspects of the forums that include top users in terms of number of posts and number of points for the prior period and for all-time. When able, I reach out personally to the top 10 posters for the prior period to thank them for their activity and to encourage them to keep up the good work.
This particular initiative is more about highlighting the partners who encourage their employees to spend time helping others in the forums. I'm doing it as an incentive to try to get more partners to encourage more of their employees to spend more time in the forums, and as a reward to recognize partners who already do that.
I want to be able to roll up forum usage/helpfulness stats to the partner company they work for, because I think it will be an interesting data point to me, those partners, and people who are looking to engage with a partner. On a side note, I think "Community Engagement" is one important measure of what makes a good partner.
Ultimately, I'd like to publish this kind of data in a more sophisticated leaderboard than what we have now so that it can be sliced and diced in various ways. This might enable some friendly competition between forum participants, whether they work for partners or not.
