Approval of user/user group/ role creation

Is it possible to bring the user, user group and role creation mechanism in alfresco under an approval work-flow? That is lets say a new user or group or a role "A " is created in the system. This entity "A" should now go for approval to some existing user in the system. The entity "A" should become usable in the system only when the approver approves it.

If it is possible to do it this way, then how can it be done in version 3.3?

Is there any body who can help me out in this scenario. Anybody from the technical team of alfresco or someone who implemented it before ?

I don't see how the creation of a group could be intercepted and controlled via workflow without quite a lot of effort.

However to have some sort of document which requests creation or modification of a group which then goes off for approval before being executed is far more possible. I've seen systems to do this at many of the large companies I've worked for.  

You could easily "knock up" a simple system using workflow in alfresco.

Thanks mrogers  for the reply. You mentioned about user groups. But is approval process not possible for user and role creation also?

You mentioned "quite a lot of effort" in implementing this. I believe, you must be having some idea about how to go for implementation of it. It would be really great if you can share some ideas to implement it. Actually my client has a mandatory requirement for an approval process for creation of user, role and user groups.
