Hi,

i am trying to upgrade alfresco 3.4 to 4.0.c. Now its showing schema validation 6 potential problems. Could please help me to sort the same.

Which database are u using, have u taken a backup of the DB, which OS are u using

I am using mysql and alfresco 4.2.c

Hi,

Old alfreasco versionis 3.4 and database Mysql.

New one is alfresco 4.2.c and database mysql. could you please help how will upgrade alfresco 3.4 to 4.2.c

do this step
make sure when you upgrade, upgrade to the next release, ie do not jump release
Steps :-
——
Take the backup of database
Take the back of alfinstall dir
Now there is a dir named "alf_data" , copy it to a safe place


Install the next release, give the DB parameters correctly
give the admin the same password as your old instance
when it ask for whether to start the service, do not start the service
Now you replace the  new "alf_data" dir with new the previously copied "alf_data"
Cross check your 'alfresco-global.proerties"
start the instance, your upgradation is over
