Alfresco for managing geospatial data

Hi everyone.

In our company, we are trying now to develop Alfresco-based system for managing geospatila data (such as satellite images).

I would say we are are beginning our way.

Does anyone  know about experiences in such specific kind of alfresco usage? prospectibe difficulies? will be pleased. I could tell about our achievements in this topic (if it interesting).

When we upgrage to SOLR 3.5 we will get better geospacial support on the query side.

Thanks for the answer.
We are planning to develop a system were we will store documents issued for environmental violation like pollution, deforestation, etc. What we'd like is the user to be able to find documents that have been issued for infractions in a determinate region, for instance near a determinate river, this coupled with the regular full-text search. We'd like too to show search results geographically, like in the ajax solr example (http://evolvingweb.github.com/ajax-solr/examples/reuters/index.html).

Our company is planning on using Alfresco for managing geospatial data as well. We have several types of software to consider, and Alfresco is just one of them. We are a bit worried about the potential problems though so we haven't started yet. Do you use it now? A quick report will be highly appreciated!
