You can't I'm afraid. Records Management will not be available for v4.0 for some time due to the large amount of refactoring to the Share code between 3.4 and 4.0. As the extension points have completely changed, we need to revisit much of the RM code. On a positive note, we'll also be refactoring the RM module itself, to make it less dependent on the DoD spec. and also remove the strict folder hierarchy.

Whilst I cannot put a release date on it, it's unlikely to be until next year.

If Records Management is important to you, please use v3.4.

Thanks,
Mike

Is there any updated timeline for the anticipated release of an Alfresco 4.0 Records Management module?

There's no timeline yet, although we're actively scoping the work now.

Thanks,

Mike,

I'll chime in and ask again if the is a timeline on the records management release yet as it is now the middle of Feb.?

Next, if you folks are weakening reliance on the DoD spec will it still be DoD compliant when you are done, how can we make it compliant?

Records Management on 4.0 is actively being developed now. We've accomplished a lot of server- and client-side refactoring but there are still some areas that need attention.

The current plan is to disconnect the "core" RM module from the DoD specification, but supply some kind of add-on that would restore the DoD-specific models and behaviour. I'm not familiar with the compliance steps, so can't comment on that.

As for dates, I can't commit to anything, but would hope to see something in Q2, 2012.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry for impatience

But is there any more precise estimation when RM 4.0 is available? Maybe I nighly build dist community version?
In April 12 or earlier?

Thanks

Ok.

Do you suggest to install the already relaesed 4.0d Version of Alfreso, and when RM ist released, to add it to the Alfreso Installation.
Or it is better to wait if RM ist released and install it togehter with the future Alfreo Version, e.g. 4.1a?

In other words, yy question is, do you see problems in to later install RM into an existing, running and configured Alfresco system, e.g into an Alfresco Community 4.0d ?

Thanks in advance for answers!
