Alfresco 1.4 Preview release available

We would like to announce that the V1.4 Community Preview release of Alfresco is now available.  This release introduces a number of new features, including:

- Business Process Managment (jBPM integration)
- Records Management
- Audit Trail
- Open Document Format support
- More JavaScript actions
- Much greater performance and stability under high loads
- My Alfresco Dashboard
- Virtual Custom Desktop executables

This Preview release is only intended for evaluation and feedback.  There are database schema changes, details are in the release notes.

Please see http://www.alfresco.com if you are interested in the Enterprise Network edition.  If you are already a partner or customer, the Enterprise 1.4 Preview will be available in the usual download location.

I was disapointed after installing Alfresco 1.4 preview and noticing that I wasn't able to creat  the space type Wiki from the wizard!

This functionality was talked about and said to be available on relase 1.4 in the podcasts, but unfortunatly it's not there  :cry: .

When will this feature be available?

I suggest the creation of a new forum for discussion of version 1.4 preview.

With Oracle, table ALF_AUDIT_TABLE seems to have an invalid column name ("DATE").

Hello !

Just tested 1.4 Preview release and I have two questions :

1. When I create a simple workflow on a space, I can't see it anywhere to use it. Is it normal ?

2. Will jBPM workflows be allowed on spaces ? Because I need to create non-simple workflows on splaces.

When will XFORMS feature be available?

Hi !

In the first Alfresco 1.4 features annoucements, it was said that a tree navigation view will appear une Alfresco 1.4.

This isn't implemented in the 1.4 preview, so I would like to know if it's still a 1.4 feature ?

Concerning this tree, will the files be seen in it ? Or only folders ? Because I believe "only folders" will make it more clear.

If it's not for 1.4, would it be possible to have some clues to resolve Frederick's Tree Nav bugs ? Like the possibility to refresh the tree nav when we open a folder ? Or to refresh the tree when content or folders are added ?

Further to earlier posts - wil the official release of 1.4 include xforms/chiba and/or the tree browser ?

We are aout to roll out Alfresco in our organisation (we were planning on waiting for 1.4 for all the great new features), but I need to know if some of the features in the roadmap have slipped this release - or can we safely start creating our Xforms ?
