Activiti = User Friendly Graphical WF Admin tool Alfresco?

Is Activiti providing or going to provide a user friendly graphical interface to administer running
workflow instances (search in tasks, update wf task/instances) in Alfresco as an alternative to the current Alfresco workflow "console"?
The current Alfresco console (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Workflow_Console)  is not very user friendly.

If so when is this planned?  And if available, how can I test this Activiti interface to Alfresco (download/intergration instructions)?

Best Regards,

AlexR

PS: I tried to search for Alfresco on this forum, but the term 'alfresco' is filtered out because of the large number of occurences of that search term. So I did not know where to put this new post.

Hi,

The activiti-engine integration is planned to be merged to alfresco-head by the beginning of february, it's currently being developed in a separate branch. This will only include the engine itself, implementing a component used in the WorkflowService.

Currently, we're evaluating what activiti-tools will make sense to use on the activiti-engine inside alfresco, but no concrete plans on how what the packaging/shipping/distribution strategy will be.

Dank u wel Frederik dat is bijzonder goed om te horen.

Thank you for the quick response.

I will be looking forward to the integration, because in my opinion a good Rest based Administrative workflow interface for Alfresco is
what is sorely missing in Alfresco right now and it will be a great improvement in the workflow usage of Alfresco.
The current Alfresco workflow console works, but when looking at other content management applications. Most of them have
an out-of-the-box graphical workflow tool in which not only you can define workflows, but also manage running workflow instances.

Don't get me wrong I think Alfresco is a good product. Just would like to see it become more friendly and robust on the BPM/workflow side.

Best regards,

Alex
