access rights case-sensitive?

Hello,

I've noticed some strange behaviour when logging in with same username using different case.

I've got a "test" folder, user Test.User is allowed access to this folder.

When I login as "Test.User" –> login works, i see the folder in my list.
When I login as "test.user" –> login works, but the folder is not visible.

I'm using LDAP authentication (all users have been synchronized successfully before logging in) on an Alfresco 2.0.1 Enterprise.

Any ideas?

cheers,
Roeland.

Hi

Which Alfresco version are you using? Have you configured user names to be case sensitive? Check if both uids are present in the admin console when managing people.

What is shown as the uid by the client when you log in with both uids?

If your user ids are not case sensitive - and there is only one person with a matching uid (ignoring case) the uid should always be set to the that stored on the person object - so it should not matter what you type - just that it matches ignoring case.

Case sensitive means - if the uid does not match exactly it is treated as a different user - not that the uids contain mixed case.
