The world moves so fast today, the bellbottom jeans I was supposed to donate last week came roaring back into style this week. Apparently, the trick to fashion is to never get rid of anything.  

Ever. 

The way we work also transforms quickly. That’s why we’re so excited about this platform, Connect. We developed it with cutting-edge technology to help you connect, so you can collaborate with others and succeed.  

Let’s look at the functionalities that help you do so. 

My profile

When you click on the sign-in button in the upper right-hand corner, you have a plethora of customization options to create a workspace that reflects your style and enhances your productivity on the platform. 

Speaking of style, uploading a picture that represents you helps build social connections. Not only does it prove you’re not a robot, but it also puts a face to your name, fostering a sense of community and connection. So, don't be shy! 

Once you’ve logged in, choose “My profile” from the User Menu in the upper-right corner, and then add a pic on the left. … Possibly while wearing fashionable bellbottom jeans. 

My settings 

Now let’s talk about the importance of a bio. Your bio is your digital handshake. Ok, I made that up, but bios are significant.  

Your bio is located on your profile page, but to add one, just drop one choice lower under “my profile” and choose “My settings,” then choose “Personal Information.” 

Use your bio to showcase your expertise, highlight your achievements, and let others know what you're passionate about. A well-crafted bio can open doors to new opportunities and collaborations.  

In the “my settings” section, you also can: 

  • Change your username 
  • Manage your subscriptions and notifications
  • Adjust preferences like your time zone 
  • Adjust tagging options 
  • And more! 

Search tips

In Connect, there are now five ways to search, which helps narrow the parameters and delivers improved results: 

  • This category: If you’ve selected a category, you can choose this option, which is the most useful way for you to get search results that only include a platform or product you own 
  • All Connect: Cast a wide net and search the entire platform 
  • Knowledge base: Drill down into technical content 
  • Users: Find and connect with industry peers or likeminded experts 
  • Private messages: Search the new functionality of private messaging 

Select the search area that fits your needs, and you’re good to go! 

Help menu 

When we developed Connect, not only did we keep users top of mind, but we also engaged some of you to give us feedback. While the new navigation is very straightforward, we put together a robust help menu, located at the top-right of the screen, next to the login button.  

Some of the important topics the help menu covers, but are not limited to are: 

  • Getting started 
  • Connect basics 
  • Participating in discussions 
  • Finding information and resources 
  • Private messaging
