Is there a direct upgrade path from Nuxeo DM 5.5-Tomcat to 5.7.* without going through 5.6?

We are about to upgrade our production system from 5.5 DM to 5.7.2 (currently). Is it possible to upgrade directly to 5.7.2, or do we need to go 5.5 -> 5.6 -> 5.7 -> 5.7.1 -> 5.7.2 ?

What is the shortest migration path needed to keep our current data intact and upgrade?

From what I discovered, the answer in short is no. Because of the significant changes between 5.5 and 5.6 (LTS), that must take place first. Once at 5.6, the migration can go to 5.7.2 or now 5.8 (LTS).

I am speculating that in order to go to whatever follows 5.8, one will need to migrate through at least LTS to LTS.
