Does Nuxeo Shell 5.5 support one-way and/or two-way SSL Authentication?

I would like to use Nuxeo Shell to connect to a Nuxeo server through an SSL-terminating Apache Reverse Proxy server. Is this currently supported? I have already have tried one-way SSL Authentication via Nuxeo Shell without success.
