How to Achiev High Availability with Alfresco Community Edition in an Enterprise Setting

I recently installed the latest version of Alfresco Content Services Community Edition, and it appears to be a strong contender for enterprise-level use. However, unlike the Enterprise Edition, the Community Edition does not natively support clustering, which limits options for achieving high availability directly within the platform.

Given this limitation, I’m interested in exploring the best methods for implementing high availability with Alfresco Community. Could you provide guidance on recommended architectures or approaches that would allow the Community Edition to perform reliably at an enterprise level? Specifically, any insights on third-party tools or configurations that can help manage redundancy, failover, and load balancing effectively would be highly appreciated.

Thnak you

Thank you @WilliamSilva-br  I will try to deploy it via docker.

Hello.

You should be checking the following addon: https://github.com/aldica/aldica

Thank you @douglascrp, this really looks promising since I'm aiming for horizontal scaling.

So, If I got it right, this is an alternative of the clustering module in alfresco enterprise. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to use it; also is it recommended to switch the installation to docker or I can continue with the manual installation (with zip file).
Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is an anternative, and you can use with with docker or not.

But pay attention to the compatibility with alfresco versions. I believe it was not updated yet. @afaust Right?

I'm using the latest version 23.0. but in the documentation I don't see that it's compatible. besides that, It only provide the installation via docker, is it supported even with manual installation?

I guess it's not compatible. Check this out https://github.com/aldica/aldica/issues/67

It will work with manual installation. You will have to configure it, but it will work (with the compatible alfresco version, of course).

Thank you, @douglascrp  I think its not compatible yeah. Unfortunately I can not downgrade the ACS version. can you please advise me on different path or recommend an architecture that can achieve high availability.

I don't know about any alternative.

I have not yet had time to update it to ACS 23 as I also wanted to update it to the latest version of Apache Ignite. It is one of the higher priority tasks for me to do...
