Hi,
Is it possible to add a property to the all existing documents within the alfresco? I want to add a new property with a default value but I don't know if it's possible to do.

As far as I know, it's not possible. You can add the property to your model, but existing documents will not be modified. You need to create a script/something to modify them.
If you need to update many docs, consider a bulk update. See this article https://connect.hyland.com/t5/alfresco-forum/bulk-update-of-a-property/m-p/8960.
Hope this helps.

Just curious, is adding this feature being considered? I could take a look at it (-to develop-). It seems to me that it could be quite useful.
