Hi everybody
I'm trying to make Web Form development as easy as it gets for non-technical users. With the current offering of Alfresco WCM, Web Forms are based on XML Schemas with require some 'technical' knowledge.
Does anybody know of some (open source) WYSIWYG editor for creating XForms. E.G. dragging and dropping UI elements like text boxes, check boxes, calenders etc on a form and defining their properties using a simple to understand GUI.
I think this is a functionality that definitely should be in Alfresco WCM, since it does not tie the system is something that is not technology neutral or ties web developers into some vendor offering and/or framework - but enhances usability for not-technical users greatly.

Some XML editors (XML Spy, oXygen, etc.) provide graphical XML schema builders, but they're probably still a little too technical for casual or non-technical users. I'd also be keen to hear if anyone knows of any others that are more "end user" friendly!
Cheers,
Peter

I was looking for something to do to learn jQuery better about 12 months ago and put together http://mikenovember.com/2007/javascript-wysiwyg-form-editor/ after seeing and playing with JotForm. It's by no means a complete solution, but if you've got lots of spare time it might be a start

I have just been working with http://www.orbeon.com . It has a forms builder (alpha version released 5/14/2008, but so far very clean) and uses eXist XML
B repository. It would be great to integrate with Alfresco.

We are currently working with the developers at Orbeon to integrate Orbeon XForms Builder into Alfresco 3.0. We should have a sample documented on our wiki by the end of August. Anyone interested in such an integration, feel free to email me lee.faus at alfresco.
