workflow with folders alfresco share

I'd like to know if is it possible to create a workflow but instead of documents, with folders. I have to make a workflow for the works of a university, and every work is a set of documents, so it's a folder/space. This work has to be edited, approved for new users, so I need to make a workflow with folders.

Is it possible? any suggestion?

Yes, you can route a folder through a workflow. I should qualify that by saying that there's nothing in the workflow engine that keeps you from doing that. However, you'll find that the UI lacks a "start workflow" for a folder. That can be corrected through a customization by making the "start workflow" UI action appear for folders.

You may find that you need to make additional customizations on the "manage workflow task" page because Alfresco will try to put an "edit content" action next to the folder, which clearly makes no sense.

So, long story short, yes, you can route folders through a workflow, but you may have to do some work to get that working in the Explorer and/or Share clients.

I'm near to finish my workflow project, but I can't move my folder and its content, throught the state-folders. I have these stat-folders:

-creation
-edition
-agreement
–historic
-retention
-publication

And I've defined my process definition workflow, I've deployed it with its -context, I've defined my workflow content modeletc.etc., Everything perfect for a document, but not for a folder.  I've read a lot of your documentation, jeff, links like:

My main technical problem is that I don't know how to define a script to set a rule, for example, that moves my folder and its content to another folder, when the workflow is running.

and it works fine for explorer version. Does anybody know which files (java, xml, js, ftl, I don't care) I have to modify to let folders be viewed in Alfresco Share workflow????
