Easy setup for interactive demo

Hi all,

I am planning a demo with Activiti - to show flexibility in creating and modifying a workflow application. So I would have to (re)deploy the bpmn file and forms (and any java classes) to show the results in a browser before and after I modify things.

What is the best way of doing this, with as much automation as possible. Note that I did not get the designer to work in Eclipse, so I guess ant or maven would be preferred.

Any ideas?

The demo setup files (and the Eclipse designer, too I believe) contain ant scripts that contain tasks that allow you to deploy using ant. Look for the 'bar' task.
I also remember there is online somewhere a maven plugin for Activiti that allows to do exactly the same.

The ant script works - the designer not (yet) in my case. I will continue with ant:-)

Unfortunately not no, i'm not much of a blogger. It was quite straightforward to do however, there was only one hickup and that is when I tried to let activity create the database schema. Somehow this didn't work with an atomikos datasource, but when i switched to a spring simpledatasource it went fine. If you want i can get you a stacktrace it was reproducible. We're using Atomikos 3.5.8, connecting to oracle 11g.

I got it to work with a simpledatasource like you sead, unfortunately the performance is really really bad….

junit testing which took 2 seconds now take 30 seconds… we have XA but at what cost…
