We are looking at Alfresco as a means to enable web collaboration and I am looking for a way to see how it really works.  Is there someone out there that would allow me to look at their web portal to see Alfresco in action?

Thank you,

Kim

Did you know we host our own Share site? http://share.alfresco.com/

Thanks,
Mike

Yes I did know that but have not figured out how to get in….I am not an IT person.  I tried the trial but it does not give me enough to determine if it will work for us.  How do I get into the shared?  Thank you very much.

I'm not sure I understand - did you follow the registration instructions on the login page?

I did follow the instructions on the page but the UN/PSWD was not accepted.  Now for the forum I already had a login.  Tried that one as well - did not work either.

Here is in simplistic form what I need to do:  Post files and have alfresco notify my client that new files exist - that person then modifies the file as needed and clicks an approved/changes needed button which in turn notifies me that the file has been reviewed and is approved as is or approved with modifications.  Now it is possible that more than one person will need to review the file….so I need an audit trail as to who modified the file and when.  Types of files most likely will be word and excel.  20 some odd languages will be involved and each reviewer needs rights to very specific folders/files.  Thanks.  K

That all sounds do-able through a combination of rules (inbound documents) and advanced workflow. Alfresco also supports detailed auditing should you require it.

I suggest you have a look around the wiki if you're going to implement this yourself, or get in touch with one of our partners otherwise.

Thanks,
Mike
