Will Alfresco do what i need it to?

We currently run a DMS called Open KM that allows us to scan documents into the openkm server ad it uses OCR to ‘file’ the documents and make them searchable.

one example is that we have quotes with hand written notes on, we scan to a directory called quotes, openKM then picks this up and moves it to where we can search it.

We want Alfresco to do the same thing?

Does Alfresco also have the ability to move docs into SAP?

Alfresco does have integrations with tools to do the scanning and OCR.  For example with kofax.

And once docs are in alfresco then they are searchable.

However moving documents into SAP would not make sense.  Alfresco ***IS*** a content repository, SAP is not. So it would make more sense to keep the docs in Alfresco and put a link in SAP.
