Where do I start?

New to alfresco but not new on CMS. I'm trying to learn how this thing work. Is this like WordPress? I' very handy at WordPress so I thought this shouldn't be any different. But I guess I as wrong.

I think that you should start reading a good book.

Would the sharing aspect of Alfresco be similar to how Sharepoint works but on a Linux platform? Can we offer the same functionality but with much less cost?
