what does package name cmr mean?

Hi, every one here:

Could any one tell me why alfresco has package org.alfresco.service and org.alfresco.repo (most of the code are in these two),
and what does cmr mean.

I asked this very question about the cmr package a few weeks ago but the answer seems lost in the depths of time.

I'm guessing it means something like "Content Management Remote".

What the package contains (or is supposed to contain) is the definition of the interfaces to the repository services.     :twisted:  We should chop up the repository and split this package out :twisted:
