What data directories do I want to back up?

I plan on using the DM + Repository and Discussion feature in the share.  When files are uploaded and stored to the system, are they stored in a MYSQL table?  What directories do I need to back up that will contain data should a crash happen or would need to recover documents that are saved in the system.  Thanks for any insight with this.

I took a look at the Wiki.  Would it also work for us if I took a complete backup of the C:\Alresco directory to a external HD backup system?  If something goes wrong with the primary system (hard drive goes bad for example), I could just then reinstate the copy from the external HD?  Would that also work for me?

Thanks

You also need a backup of your database.  You need both the database and content store together.

If you copy everything in c:\alfresco then you will be backing up more than you need.  However better to have too much backup than not enough.

I backed up the whole C:\Alfresco directory and the MySQL DB using mysqldump.  I then restored the directory to a new server running the same version of Alfresco - 3.3g.  Then I restored the DB using mysql.  The problem is that i can not log into the Alfresco Share or Explorer.  I get an authentication error as if the user or password is wrong.  What could this be?
Thanks.
