We have two websites running, one site implementation using WQS architect and java and one site using simple CMS and PHP core technology. It seems that CMS and PHP implementation beats WQS and java technology from performance point of view. Now we have two co-existing content management systems. I am very confidence that we can deep-dive into WQS architect to tune the application. I would like to have architects from WQS to give us some advice where we should start so that we can boost our WQS applications. We would like to have only one enterprise content management system but we need convince managers that alfresco is the right solution. Thanks in advance.

It would be useful to have a little more information about the nature of your website. How many page types are there? For a common page type what is a typical set of WQS API calls that are being used to render it? What version of Alfresco is being used in this comparison? I'm very interested in gaining a better understanding of what you're doing to see what we can do to help.

We have only eleven page types.

For a common page type what is a typical set of WQS API calls that are being used to render it: I am not sure the question, but I guess:
For common components, we have footer, header, eyebrow and horizontal navigation and left navigation. Except navigations, they are using collections. The body content is using directive. The current version of alfresco is 3.4.

Since you're on Enterprise 3.4.0, it would be interesting to know how things change if you import your site data into a 3.4.3 instance. There are quite a few performance enhancements to WQS in that release. Is that something you might be able to try?

Yes, we would like to try.

In fact, 3.4.4 has literally just been made available…
