WCM Preview website not working with full setup

Hi,

I have installed alfresco community edition 3.2.r2 full setup. I am trying to run through an example on web content management and I am not able to get the preview website to work. Here is the url generated on clicking preview -

http://admin.someco-site.www--sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/index.html

and the error is - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at admin.someco-site.www–sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180.

I read on this forum that both virtual server and alfresco server need to be running for WCM. I have the alfresco server running. I also tried running the virtual server. But nothing happens when I execute virtual_start.bat. I am guessing that the virtual tomcat is not up. Am I missing some configuration for virtual server ? Any suggestions to get the virtual server running and preview working would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

you must ensure that die virtual server is running. To do so you must start the console (cmd) and start with "virtual-start.bat". If the is a error like "You must set JAVA_HOME…" than you have to set the system variable with "set JAVA_HOME=c:\[PATH_TO_YOUR_JAVA]". Now the virtual server should start and the preview should work. Also be shure that there is no proxy-server configured in your browser.

Hi there stollreisin, like mjosie I have encountered the same problem. I did what you have suggested and luckily I was able to preview my WCM website in full set-up. I hope she had also resolved her bug. Multivariate Testing
