very slow to open space

i install and use alfresco 2.1 with mysql database.
i have 8 folder in company home but the 80% of data located in 1 folder. when i want to open that folder, the response is very slow, about 10 minutes..
is there anyone who experiencing in same problem??

Yup, I have the same issue. While it doesn't take 10 mins to open the largest space (1000+ docs), it takes enough time for it to be impractical to use on a regular basis (~30sec).

Granted I have some peculiarities in the setup that may be contributing to the slowdown; primarily the separation of the repository and indexes from the local Alfresco server. I did try to put the index on the local server but alas to no noticeable speeding up of the services.

Perhaps if you gave some more info about your setup and what kind of files you generally work with you'll get some useful insight.
