using 1 alfresco mysql DB with 1+ alfresco instances?

Hi EveryOne,

I have installed Alfresco 2.1 with mysql database in C:\alfresco2.1 folder.
I have another alfresco2.1 installed in d:\alfresco2.1Test

Now i want to use common mysql database for both alfresco.

Can i use it?.

Do you intend for the two Alfresco instances to share the same content / repository?

If so, then you're creating an Alfresco cluster - documentation at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/High_Availability_Configuration_V1.4_to_V2.1

If these are intended to be independent Alfresco instances then you can also share the same MySQL installation, however the two Alfresco instances must be configured to connect to different databases within that MySQL instance.  This is described at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Database_Configuration.
