'Unspecialise' action not supported in rules?

Hi everyone!

I have 2 custom types (folders), say A and B. B inherits from A (it simply adds an association definition).

In some cases I have to create folders of type B and then, after an elaboration, they have to be specialised to A. The term "specialise" is not so suitable in these cases, maybe "unspecialise" is better; indeed Share leaves the item as B type, ignoring my action "specialise to A".

Is there a way to really unspecialise types?

Thanks,

Rob

Maybe I'm not been so clear in my post.. so I try to explain my problem in a better way.

"Specialise type" doesn't work (for me) when the target type is parent of the original content type. Indeed, after the end of the rule execution, the content type is unaffected.

Is it a common behaviour or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Roberto

I suggest you look at the source code for the specialise type to see what is going on    Yours is an uncommon case and may need a new action to be added.

The need for an "unspecialise" action may also indicate a problem with your content model,  may be worth exploring that too…
