Unable to Browse Sites from Mobile iOS 2.0

I’ve upgraded my old version of the Alfresco Mobile app to the new Alfresco Mobile app on both my iPhone and iPad.

Connecting to our on-premise system (Alfresco 4.2).

When selecting the “Sites” sidebar option:  I can see all the sites, but when I select a site to navigate down into that site, I get an error:  “unable to access document library.  Error: (null)."

I can go to the Repository setting in the sidebar and navigate down that way, but not the most efficient way to do this.

Can I ask exactly which version of Alfresco you have please? i.e. 4.2.(letter) for Community or 4.2.(service pack) for Enterprise.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Ed. That's certainly one we've never seen before. Have you opened a case with support? They can check for any obvious problems.

Are you connecting to the repository directly, or do you have an Apache web server (or similar) proxying requests?

Also, do you have any customisations? Finally, does the error occur on all site tabs (Favorites, My Sites & All Sites)?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Have not opened a case with support, but I will - was hoping someone in the forum could shed some light.

I assume we are connecting to the repository directly, standard Alfresco install.

Yes, we have a few customizations, but all was working fine in the prior iOS version (though I guess the sidebar approach wasn't part of those).  Yes, the error comes on all site tabs (Favorites, My Sites and All Sites).

We also lost the ability to browse documents via the upgraded Alfresco iPad App. The previous version worked well with our community version 4.2.d, but since upgrading the app, we get an msg when attempting to bores documents within our sites. We can see the list of sites but touching a site prompts the following message.

"Unable to access Document Library. Error: The requested node wasn't found."

Like ekay above, we can access the sites via the Company Home section, however once finally navigating to a document this way, we then get the error:

"Unable to retrieve comments. Error: Check that you have access rights to do this"

I suspect your problem will be solved by upgrading to Community 4.2.f or 5.0.a. There were a few issues with the Public API in the earlier versions of Community.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hmm… I thought that might be the response.

Of course in a large school, this is no trite exercise. It is a pity that an environment that was working well for us, is undone by an App upgrade which on an iOS device cannot be reversed.

Thanks anyway.

Dear Mike,

Do you have a workaround for missing part ("/workspace/SpacesStore/") of node URLs in requests?

Requests from current iOS client, logged on Community Edition 4.2.f:

Hi Lajos

That's a strange one - I don't think I've seen that before. It looks like it's using the Public API for CMIS node-related requests (which only use IDs) but the legacy REST API for Alfresco services. Is your service URL set to "/alfresco" ?

Thanks,
Mike
