I am doing a fresh install of Community 3.4.a on a Windows Server 2003 R2 system. I goes almost to completion but gets the following error when it tries to launch the MySQL service:
The instruction at "0x006b8853" referenced memory at "0x00c20000". The memory could not be "read".
The installation then exits with errors. If I try and go in and start the service manually I get the same error message.
Any idea what has gone wrong?
Regards,
Mark C.

Here is an update. I did an install on a Windows XP system and everything worked correctly. Maybe it has something to do with MySQL running as a service under version 3.4. I checked exceptions and added mysqld.exe and port number 3306 but still no go. May have something to do with security under Windows Server 2003.
Thoughts anyone?
Regards,
Mark C.
