How to go about with creating a tree view navigation system in the UI(The bar on the left side of the web client)?

Hi,
what do you mean by tree view navigation ? There is one already. Or do you mean a category/tagbased treeview ? Check out the community project opsoro, docasu and flexspaces, they all implement something like this.
