Tomcat Manager access and IE https download conflict

I've got a little problem to understand what to do about those conflicting issues :

1) Release notes for 3.4.a informs about a known issue about SSL for IE

And the workaround proposed is indeed fixing the issue (for 4.2.c at least).


2) But the same workaround has to be removed to access the Tomcat manager GUI as described below :

=> How can we have both working ?

Not yet sure if relevant, but the default value for securePagesWithPragma has been changed from true to false between Tomcat 6 and 7…
Looks like adding the recommended line (with "false") with Tomcat 7 is no longer required.
Worst, it might break the authentication mechanism of the manager webapp.

No more time to test different version. I'm not sure this conflict I was talking about still make sense !
